What is Tatooine Times?
Tatooine Times is a Star Wars website that promotes and celebrates the creators of a galaxy far, far away. Since its creation in 2017 (after an inspirational visit to Star Wars Celebration in Orlando), we made a commitment to provide insightful and positive content—from books, comics, and Disney+ series reviews to interviews with Star Wars creators to uncover behind-the-scenes glimpses and dive deep into development processes.
Over the years, we have partnered with major publishers to bring you reviews of the latest Star Wars books and comics, including Penguin Random House (Del Rey and Penguin Random House Audio), Disney Books, Chronicle Books, Abrams, Insight Editions, Marvel, IDW Publishing, Dark Horse, and VIZ Media.
Tatooine Times interviews and promotes the work of New York Times bestselling authors, legendary artists, voice actors from TV shows and audio books, and cast & crew from various Star Wars projects. Besides plentiful reviews and interviews, we also explore and celebrate different aspects of our beloved galaxy far, far away. Our Journeys section of the website covers a variety of content—from Asian representation in Star Wars to comic conventions and even Disney parks experiences.
We hope you enjoy Tatooine Times, and we look forward to hearing your Star Wars thoughts on our social media outlets.
SC-00P & R-3C
SC-00P, or “Scoop” is an old, battle-worn B1-series droid that was decommissioned after the Separatist’s defeat and the rise of the Galactic Empire. A mysterious benefactor found him in a scrap yard on Tatooine and repurposed the droid to become arguably the best reporter in the Outer Rim. Soon after the human’s passing, Scoop decided to take on the daily responsibilities of running Tatooine Times, the local holomagazine that covers pretty much everything that happens on the desert planet and beyond. Although he is very capable of running the business by himself, Scoop repurposed a malfunctioning Senate hovercam to assist him during his field work. He affectionately called her R-3C, or “REC” for her ability to record pretty much anything in her sight.
