It’s Doctor Aphra week!!! After the release of Doctor Aphra’s exclusive audio drama—expanding upon the rogue archeologist’s origin story, based on her introduction in the 2015-2016 Darth Vader comic series—the all-new ongoing comic series resumes with Fortune and Fate Part 2: Haunted.

Spoiler Warning
The quest for retrieving the Rings of Vaale finally begins as Aphra—accompanied by her new team—arrives at the cursed city, the presumed location of the treasure’s whereabouts. As the title suggests, the team is about to embark on a haunted path full of warnings of the dangers that lie ahead.
This issue is the quintessential for galactic archaeology as Aphra and her fellow academics explore and document the mysterious and terrifying carvings—coming to life by Marika Cresta’s pencils and Rachelle Rosenberg’s colors—that surround the lost city. As the team progresses through the spooky path, the reader gets a lecture on the history of the architects of Vaale through ancient murals depicting the cursed power of the rings.
Besides the adventure and mystery of the main storyline, Fortune and Fate Part 2 provides insightful background stories about Professor Eustacia Okka and Doctor Aphra’s romantic past and Ronen Tagge’s grudge against the rogue archeologist. In addition, the issue sprinkles a few hints to High Republic lore—the unknown time period in Star Wars which will be revealed in 2021.
Doctor Aphra #2 – Fortune and Fate Part 2: Haunted continues the new adventures of our favorite rogue archeologist, raising the bar with mystery and fresh character dynamics. Alyssa Wong is truly bringing the best of Doctor Aphra with this new series while still making it a great entry point for readers that have yet to read about her complicated past.
