Immediately following the events of the last issue, Bounty Hunters #22 finds T’onga and her bounty hunter crew of Losha, 4-LOM, Zuckuss, Tasu Leech, and Bossk holding the unconscious body of their target: General Vukorah. They got into Vukorah’s base with a bit of trouble, but not too much. However, with the rest of Vukorah’s people now wise to what’s going on, the team is stuck trying to fight off an army as they try to escape Corellia with their captive. At the same time we find Lady Qi’ra treating her new guest Cadeliah, the young heir to two huge crime syndicates, to a nice dinner spread, much to Cadeliah’s anger and dissatisfaction.

Writer Ethan Sacks continues his extravagant and upbeat action comedy romp through the Star Wars underworld with Bounty Hunters #22! He follows the previous issue’s wit and fun with the next part of this exciting story, once again feeling reminiscent to the stories and dialogue found in the films of Guy Ritchie and Matthew Vaughn, with a large level of risk and tension constantly smothered, wonderfully, in humor and entertaining violent tendencies from the characters and their actions. This issue starts out already at 100% in terms of speed and excitement and never lets up until the final pages. Even when the story leaves the main action sequence to visit other supporting characters the writing stays at a high level of entertainment and action.

Artist Paolo Villanelli, colorist Arif Prianto, and letterer VC’s Travis Lanham are back again for Bounty Hunters #22, deftly adapting Sacks’ words to page with intense and frenetic action. The pages are littered with fight scenes of different calibers, be it close range or long range weapons, vehicle chases, or unexpected encounters with thermal detonators, and this crew of wonderful artists continue to show just how incredible they can be.

The main cover art for Bounty Hunters #22 comes from artists Giuseppe Camuncoli and Jesus Aburtov and perfectly encapsulates the intense and near one sided battle of T’onga’s crew against an army of Unbroken Clan warriors. It’s a stella and wild piece that shows the readers exactly what they’re going to see on the pages inside. The first of two variant covers is the Paul Renaud Traitor Of Dawn variant cover which focuses on Death Stick ready to fight. The second variant cover is by Paolo Villanelli and Mattia Iacono and features a large profile of T’onga with a small collage of her crew members, almost like an action movie poster!

Bounty Hunters #22 continues the epic and exciting storyline of T’onga taking on Crimson Dawn, going after General Vukorah, and trying to rescue the heir to the Mourner’s Wail and Unbroken Clan syndicates, along with her rag-tag crew of bounty hunters. It’s a fast paced and exciting action romp that is perfect for the Star Wars universe. So fire up your speeder bikes and go on down to your local comic shop to pick up an issue today!
