July 13, 2022 @ 1:44pmAfter being betrayed by Dengar and led into a trap on the Vermillion, Crimson Dawn’s fortress-flagship, Bounty Hunters #25 finds T’onga and her motley crew stuck between Beskar and a hard place. Not only are they locked within the most heavily guarded vessel of the Crimson Dawn, but now they are faced with the entirety (well, the remaining members) of the Knights of Ren! It’s a do or die situation as they fight for their lives to make it out of this encounter. At the same time, Losha has been left behind in the crew’s own ship to keep an eye on the dastardly General Vukorah. Unbeknownst to her, however, Dengar let Vukorah loose and she is pissed.
Writer Ethan Sacks continues to rock the Star Wars underworld with Bounty Hunters #25. The excitement and humor are at its peak in this issue. The former showing the Knights of Ren arguably being the most menacing we’ve seen so far, and the latter involving Tasu Leech taking his shirt off as fast as possible to show how muscular he is as he fights the equally shirtless and muscular leader Ren. It’s an epic, fun, and beautiful issue that can only be written by Ethan Sacks!
Bounty Hunters #25 is filled with some of the best and coolest comic book art ever. The visual artistic team for this issue consists of artist Paolo Villanelli, colorist Arif Prianto, and letterer VC’s Travis Lanham. The comic is filled with exciting action in long range combat between blasters as well as melee combat, consisting of lightsaber vs beskar-laced blade and hand to hand fights. Overall, Prianto’s colors are probably what really seal the deal for me. Just hands down absolutely gorgeous, occasionally grimy, colors that make every single character stand on their own in such a perfect and unique way.
The main cover art for Bounty Hunters #25 by Giuseppe Camuncoli and Jesus Aburtov is an absolutely stunning piece that features Vircul of the Knights of Ren with the faces of T’onga and Bossk reflected in his helmet. It’s definitely one of the coolest Star Wars comic covers I’ve ever seen. The first variant cover comes from Ken Lashley and Juan Fernandez and sees Zuckuss, 4-LOM, and Bossk surrounded by the entirety of the Knights. Last, but certainly not least, the powerhouse trio of Chris Sprouse, Karl Story, and Neeraj Menon are back again with the Choose Your Destiny variant, this time depicting Kylo Ren and his gorgeous and unique lightsaber hilt.
Bounty Hunters #25 continues to push T’onga and her crew into worse and worse circumstances while keeping the energy, excitement, and humor high throughout. It’s an incredibly fun issue that definitely needs to be read. So fire up those swoop bikes and zoom on down to your local comic shop and pick up your copy today!
