After having reacquainted himself with Sabé and informed Ochi of Bestoon that he knows Ochi is with Crimson Dawn, Darth Vader (2020) #22 finds the menacing Dark Lord looking to use these connections to his advantage. Through Sabé, Vader looks to infiltrate and use factions of Crimson Dawn to fight against other enemies of his, namely a certain Imperial General that has a beef with him. And that’s where Ochi comes in as he has ways of informing others of Vader’s plans without making them realize he’s walking them into a trap!

Writer Greg Pak pushes some political intrigue and twists and turns in Darth Vader (2020) #22, continuing to show just how menacing and powerful Vader can be with just words and prowess as he starts manipulating different pieces and people throughout the galaxy for his own gain. Artist Raffaele Ienco, colorist Alex Sinclair and letterer VC’s Joe Caramagna help bring this malice to life with their excellent art that fills these pages with life. The best part about this issue is definitely Sinclair’s colors which make every panel pop and add a wonderful vibrancy to the Star Wars galaxy in nearly every panel!

The main cover art for Darth Vader (2020) #22 comes from Paul Renaud and shows off an epic and powerful pose from Vader himself, cape billowing in the wind and lightsaber drawn, with flames, explosions, and TIE fighters littering the background. The first variant cover was done by interior artist Raffaele Ienco and shows the aftermath of a brutal scene of Vader taking out handfuls of soldiers. The second variant cover is the Traitor of the Dawn variant from Paul Renaud featuring Ochi of Bestoon, both masked and armored as the main focus as well as unmasked in the background.

Darth Vader (2020) #22 continues Vader’s conquest to rule the galaxy by manipulating any and every side of the war that he can.
