Spoiler Warning
Doctor Aphra and her associate Sana Starros have tracked the ancient Nihil path engine to a demonstration by Beol De’Rruyet on the planet of Midarr. All they have to do is snag the engine and return to their employer Domina Tagge and everything will be all good! Unfortunately their current nemesis, the Unbroken Clan Syndicate’s leader General Vukorah is also here at the demonstration after the exact same thing. After very easy and brief convincing from Starros, Aphra decides the best course of action is to attempt to fool Vukorah, save the civilians at the demonstration, and steal the path engine all at once. It’s a fool’s plan, but Aphra is just the kind of fool to attempt it and get away with it! Off on Canto Bight, Just Lucky and Ariole are on a debt collecting job for Wen Delphis, leader of the Sixth Kin criminal organization, when they realize something big is going on. The people they were sent to collect from end up with backup on their side which means that this may have been a trap! That trap is confirmed when they return to Wen Delphis and are told of a traitor within the organization. Their next job is to locate that traitor. They’re sent to a secret meeting that promises to be an exclusive event. An exclusive event among criminals can only mean one thing: more notorious criminals! And that means Aphra and Starros are on their way too, as well as a certain bounty hunter that fans of 2003 Clone Wars micro-series and Legends Clone Wars comics will be very happy to see!

The art in Doctor Aphra (2020) #10 is a lot of fun with penciller Ray-Anthony Height, inker Victor Olazaba, and color artist Rachelle Rosenberg coming together to do a beautiful job rendering the excitement and fun throughout this issue. The interiors are definitely this team’s strong suit and it comes across beautifully when the characters are either within Domina Tagge’s starship or Wen Delphis’ meeting room. The colors from Rachelle Rosenberg are stunning when dealing with the containment field on Tagge’s ship as well as the stunning and vibrantly green crystal core that Aphra acquires. Letterer VC’s Joe Caramagna also has a lot of time to shine during the fiery and explosive events on Midarr with constant scenes utilizing his wonderful art on sound effects throughout.
We also have a stunning cover done by Joshua “Sway” Swaby & Guru-eFX depicting Vukorah ready to strike at Aphra as she admires the Nihil path engine. It tells the readers exactly what they are coming into—great peril, but also great fun—in this issue and who is responsible for both! It’s a great tease for the coming pages. There’s also two beautiful variant covers done by Ray-Anthony Height & Arif Prianto as well as Joshua “Sway” Swaby & Guru-eFX!
